
The all new GT-R has taken all the weight reduction techniques under consideration. One of the newest and most exciting features of this car is the novel approach for the R36 GT-R Hybrid, called ATTESSA II Electric-All-Wheel Drive. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6, now mates to an electric motor and drives the rear wheels through a revised seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.,The front wheels are driven by two electric motors that can independently vector torque. Nissan says the system's combined output is around 800 hp and 847 lb-ft of torque, though it's still undergoing final tuning. [1]
This drive-train is to accomplish a 0-60 time of 1.8 sec. This means the R 36 will cover a 1/4 mile quicker than the Corvette Z06. However Nissan claims that the 1.8 sec 0-60 performance time is only doable in Ultra-Attack mode which terminates the warranty of the vehicle once it's engaged. The 0-60 time for this vehicle is estimated at 2.5 sec with out the Ultra Attack mode engagement.
