The all new Nissan GT-R Skyline R 36 Hybrid to be launched by 2016

Nissan has confirmed with the auto magazine, Motor Trend, that the all new Nissan GTR Skyline R 36 Hybrid is due to be exhibited and announced at the New York auto show with it's combined 800 hp under the hood. Nissan claims that the new GT-R is a respond to the Acura NSx, Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918 Spyder that were lately launched. However Nissan is again trying to put shame on its expensive competitors with the affordable packages it will offer. The new GT-R is inspired by the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC and Delta Wing track car.

The all new GT-R has taken all the weight reduction techniques under consideration. One of the newest and most exciting features of this car is the novel approach for the R36 GT-R Hybrid, called ATTESSA II Electric-All-Wheel Drive. The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6, now mates to an electric motor and drives the rear wheels through a revised seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.,The front wheels are driven by two electric motors that can independently vector torque. Nissan says the system's combined output is around 800 hp and 847 lb-ft of torque, though it's still undergoing final tuning. [1]

This drive-train is to accomplish a 0-60 time of 1.8 sec. This means the R 36 will cover a 1/4 mile quicker than the Corvette Z06. However Nissan claims that the 1.8 sec 0-60 performance time is only doable in Ultra-Attack mode which terminates the warranty of the vehicle once it's engaged. The 0-60 time for this vehicle is estimated at 2.5 sec with out the Ultra Attack mode engagement.
